So September was all about glass recycling. I love that. It really made me think of ways to reuse all of those glass bottles & jars lurking in my kitchen cupboards. Of course, you want a recycled product that is pleasing to the eye, something that can happily sit on your kitchen counter with a purpose & look good in the process.
As I mentioned in a previous post, The Glass Recycling Company asked a few bloggers to share their best tips, tricks & glass recycling ideas. If you liked my previous post, you are going to love the next two ideas I’m about to share (put your smiley, happy, recycling faces on)…
You know those days when nothing else quite beats a breakfast of boiled eggs with toast soldiers? Egg cups are pretty hard to find in my house, there are never enough for everybody. When my baby was being introduced to solids the baby food jars piled up. Naturally, I couldn’t throw them away, so they’ve been sitting in the cupboard with my drinking glasses for nearly a year. This week however they found a new purpose – hello egg cups! Add a bit of washie tape & you’re sorted! Breakfast is looking even better!
My second glass recycling idea made use of all of my used Consol preserve jars… say hello to your new pumpkin seed storage vessel. Well, any kind of seed or grain storage vessel, really. Add a lick of paint to the lid, paint something plant related in the same colour & add a drop or two super glue. I used a plastic cactus that I found in Asha’s toy box. Hello pretty kitchen storage container!
HOW CUTE?! So cute.
The recycling trend is going strong in our house & I’m so glad it is, making just a few simple changes can really help our planet & if it looks good in the process, why not?
Happy Glass Recycling x
