A long post & long recipe isn’t required here. Some people adore peanut butter on toast. Others love butter, or cheese. I like those ingredients too. But there are other times when all I really want is something so deliciously savoury & sticky & soft & savoury & just delicious 9but I’ve said that already). That thing is a bulb (yes, a whole bulb) of roasted garlic. Soft, sticky morsels that just pop from their papery shells & can be smeared onto crunchy toast. Yum alert should by high for this one…
This is what I use & how I do it…
2 whole garlic bulbs
Olive oil, to drizzle
A splash of white wine
Sea salt & freshly ground black pepper
And then…
Cut the garlic bulbs in half & add to a small roasting dish, followed by a good drizzle of olive oil, a generous splash of white wine & a good seasoning of sea salt & freshly ground black pepper.
Cover with foil & bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 40-45 minutes. Remove the foil & roast for a further 5-10 minutes until golden & soft.
Spread on loads of crispy toast.
Happy munching! x
