In the mood for participating in something a little different this weekend? Slow Food In Soweto, as well as the Soweto Eat-In, hosted by Slow Food, will be held at the Soweto Theatre, this Saturday, the 3rd of September, 2016. It’s an absolute must for those foodies who want to discover & explore all of the vast culinary aspects that Johannesburg has to offer.
Slow Food In Soweto, a food conference focusing on growing & producing food in Soweto & Johannesburg, as well as sustainable food production in the city & beyond. There will also be around 100 farmers selling their goods – all crops that have been grown in & around Soweto. The 7 Colours Market will have a variety of goods on sale, from craft beer to wine, additional food stalls, fabulous arts & crafts, with local Sowetan musicians keeping our ears very happy with some sweet beats.
The Soweto Eat-In section of the conference is all about culinary competition. Ten Top Chef Schools will be cooking a whole Nguni cow & have been challenged to prepare a meal consisting of one primary cut of meat & one offal meat meal. Guests will get to enjoy five of these primary cuts of meat meals, as well as one offal meat meal. There’s so much more to good cooking than simply using the finest cuts of meat.
If this sounds like your kind of culinary adventure, tickets are available for purchase via webtickets. Ticket prices are as follows:
