About three weeks ago an invite landed in my inbox. I scanned it quickly, as always, looking for keywords that would peek my interest. “Instawalk”. But not just any Instawalk. A food related walk-about, hosted by the always delightful, The Forum Company. How lovely, the ideal way to combine two things I enjoy immensely; Food + Instagram.
As mentioned above, The Forum Company always host the best events. The Joburg food crew were out in full force & a food-inspired Instawalk began… Highlighting the artisinal eats The Forum Company also produces, we were asked to come up with our own bread combinations. Various types of bread dough & toppings were on hand. A few camera clicks happened in between getting doused in flour.
Besides food, The Forum Company has an appreciation for art, as is evident within their gorgeous grounds. Now as much as I appreciate something on canvas, it was the food stops that lured me to snap away. The tour continued, with yet more art, more fantastic nibbles, as well as bit of performing art. It was at this stage that I had to make an early exit (being a mom is hard!) & I missed out on the lunch that was being served (I had a sneak peek & it looked gorgeous… Food is art?)
From catering, to hosting events, functions & weddings, The Forum Company is always coming up with a new culinary adventure for the food loving public of Johannesburg. There is a venue to suit every occasion, with L’antico Giardino, always grabbing my attention. Situated near Lanseria, enjoy a farm-to-table style lunch in the open garden, with the freshest, most seasonable products.
