Firstly… Ahoy Salty readers! Mo(a)nday is here & for once it is a rather happy one. Much to housemate no.2’s disgust – I woke up in a splendid (yes splendid) mood this morning. This confused him to the point of nearly upsetting his morning routine – ha. But miracles do happen every so often & I decided to revel in my joy. The confused Mikey Mike even offered to make me a cup of caffeine – lovely – confusion wins.
So what’s up with all the happy morning antics? Well… I’m not really sure… All I know is such a day deserves my Sugar & Honey & Cinnaminaminamin Doh!Nut recipe because what’s a Mo(a)nday without a touch of sugar? I suggest making a batch of cereal milk to quench the thirst once you get stuck into these little okes – chocolate flavour – naturally.
Honey, Sugar & Cinnaminaminamin Doh!Nuts
*makes about 25-30 mini guys*
1 cup self raising flour
3/4 cup castor sugar
1/2 tsp (5ml) Bicarbonate of Soda
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup milk
20g butter, melted
In a BIG bowl, combine the flour, 3/4 cup castor sugar, egg, milk and butter. *Mix Mix* to form a smooth batter. Heat an electric doh!nut maker and *pour pour*into the tiny holes. *Sizzle Sizzle* for 3 minutes. Remove from maker and set aside. Heat the honey and brush the warm doh!nuts with golden sticky goodness. Combine some castor sugar and cinnamon, *mix mix* again & sprinkle over the sticky, holey dough bites.
Bite & dunk into masses of chocolate cereal milk.
