Just as the headline says… Coobs really is the darling of 4th Avenue. If you think of Parkhurst, you think of Coobs. Consistently serving exciting, (extremely!) tasty dishes, with produce supplied from their (INCREDIBLE) family farm, Brightside, in the Magaliesburg. That farm… it’s something rather special, I’ve visited it, I know. Coobs, a restaurant that believes that seasonability is key.
Owner & head chef, James Diack, along with his lovely wife Robyn (also an owner), have put a whole lot of love, sweat & tears into their food baby. And it shows.
Now onto what that headline says… Xmas Feasting. I was invited by that lovely pair to attend the Coobs Media Xmas Lunch. Baby duties meant I had to give it a skip (sadly). I usually don’t post about events or items I haven’t tried myself but because I have been to the restaurant on many occasions, I know that what was presented could only have been delicious. I also received amazing feedback from the other bloggers & media who were lucky enough to chow. Basically, Coobs is getting everybody in the festive spirit with their ho ho hoooorah menu (it isn’t called that but what’s wrong with a nickname?).
The three-course menu will change weekly & will feature seasonal ingredients from Brightside Farm. Expect roast pigeon with sage bread & thyme stuffing, crispy spuds & a cherry jus; gammon in a variety of flavours, using free-range pork & sweet eggnog cheesecake with whiskey ice-cream (!YUM!)
The festive menu will be on offer until the 20th of December, so go on, you know you want to give that delicious pigeon a try…
